As the energies of the planets harmoniously blend, bringing forth frolic and fun, we are once again reminded that summer is finally here.
Astrologically speaking, a retrograde occurs when the planet moves closer to the Earth thus changing the vibration of the planets influence. An example is seen as Mercury, the planet of reason turned retrograde, June 26, 2013. Its retrograde will take place in the emotional Moon-ruled sign of Cancer. When Mercury retrogrades we begin to dig deeper into our thoughts, we seek out answers, we heavily introspect. During this time, much of our focus will be placed on family, friends and personal security. This retrograde will last until July 20th, 8:40 PM. For some, this can be a confusing period as many of us may feel vulnerable. On the other hand, this is a good time to think as well as communicate from a completely different angle. Stay open, yet grounded.
On a more positive note, Venus the Goddess of love sextiles/trines transiting Jupiter and Saturn, the agent of transformation and structure. This particular aspect will no doubt fuel the passion within each and every one of us. Its influence can be seen in areas of love and/or money. Relationships of all kinds will be changing for the better, and money related matters may improve as we seek novel ways to improve our selves financially.
In addition to all of this, on June 27, 2013, Jupiter, the planet of luck moved into the Moon-ruled Jupiter the planet of luck will move into the sensitive, moon-ruled sign of Cancer where it will remain for one year. It’s last occurrence took place in 2001 through 2002. For those born under the Aries, Libra and Capricorn, expect changes within the area of work and home. For most Cancers, this may be a period where you take a closer look at your life as you begin to make changes that will no doubt enhance your every move.
SIGNS:
Aries ( March 21-April 19)- As Jupiter now transiting in Cancer at odds with your natal Sun, work related matters will shift greatly as you see yourself moving upward, or merely leaving your present position. In addition, Mercury in retrograde taking place in your 4th house, may trigger unsuspecting family pressures, a good time to create a plan of action. However with Venus the planet of love, accents you, a noticeable difference will take place with regard to money and love matters.
Taurus ( April 20- May 21)- While demands from others can and will occupy plenty of your time, you may find yourself on a path of self discovery. This should be a powerful period for you as much of what you need to do is laid out for you. . More importantly be watchful of not only what you say but how you say it as Mercury turns retrograde in your area of chat. A good strong period in which to create a creative outlet.
Gemini ( May 22-June 21)- Powerful aspects to your own Sun energy can be more than beneficial for career opportunities, as Venus, the planet of passion balances your own sign, and Jupiter in Cancer, forms a much needed balance This is a strong cycle in which you find yourself moving forward in most areas of life. However, Mercury in retrograde may cause a few mishaps where your heart is concerned. A good time to think things through without reacting.
Cancer ( June 22-July 23)- As Jupiter the planet of chance moves into your own sign, you may feel a sudden desire to step out of the box. As with Cancers, home and security is your saving grace, however with this transit you may find yourself changing gears. also, a strong career/work situation as well as Saturn continues to transit in Scorpio. Finally, the cars are all laid out in your favor!
Leo ( July 24-Aug 21)- This month as a few of the planets align favorably, you may find yourself wanting to manifest your dreams, As Venus in Leo, and Jupiter inCancer provides balance to your own sign, your desire to take the bull by the horns becomes more evident. However Saturn in Scorpio may force you to work hard for whatever you get. This is a powerful month for you, use the energies wisely. As Mercury retrogrades, you should be able to create closure from the past. Time to clean house.
Virgo ( Aug 22- Sept 21) As your ruler Mercury turns retrograde, you may see yourself a bit more reflective than usual. Relationships, both business and personal related are strong factors this month as long as you keep your priorities in check. Friendships may be going through a bit of a hurdle, but only temporarily. The most important thing to remember is that life is always in a constant motion. This should be a good period for you to stay focused and centered.
Libra ( Sep 22-Oct 23)- You are poised in a great direction for the next month or so as Venus in harmony to your own sign will enhance you considerably. Partnerships take on a new and positive look, as you feel the weight of the last two years slowly falling away. A very strong cycle for you as your creative juices begin to flow, love begins to flourish and your relationship with yourself takes on a new meaning. Be well aware of Mercury changing gears in your area of work. Pace yourself, do not make any hasty moves.
Scorpio ( Oct 24-Nov 22)- Family obligations and changes within the home are the key points this month as you see yourself being pulled between work and home. This can be a productive month for you, but you may begin to feel a bit overwhelmed. It’s important to get yourself and your priorities in place. Health looks positive, money is gainful, work matters may be a bit stagnant however it’s up to you to keep the ball moving.
Sagittarius ( Nov 23- DEC 21)- This is your time to shine as transiting Venus in Leo, and Saturn in Scorpio bring life and appeal to your own Sun’s energy. A strong love period for you, whether new or existing. Your outlook for the next two years will be clear and very well received. A fruitful time with family and friend, as you finally feel like everything is falling into place again…
Capricorn ( DEC 22-Jan 20)- Make careful choices for the next few weeks or so, until after Mercury goes direct on July 20th. The tug pull of the energy may cause you to act out of character, so take care as to not overdo. This can be a strong and prosperous time, nonetheless, as again you shift your priorities into first gear. Also, a good money cycle for you.
Aquarius ( Jan 21_ Feb 19)- A very interesting month for you as the opposition and square of the planets bring forth a sense of much needed changes. During this time you may find yourself feeling a bit more vulnerable, and less in control. However at this stage in the game you’re at a place where you need to let go of obstacles that have hindered you in the past. Specifically speaking, this relates to friends, co workers, job matters. This is your time to finally get a handle of where you want to be.
Pisces ( Feb 20- March 20)- Creativity, and individuality are key points, as your need to travel, seek out knowledge, or just live out of the box is highly indicated. Also, a strong period for matters of the heart, as you see yourself becoming more entwined with the idea of commitment. In addition, taking directions and being more decisive in areas of work related situations, enhances how others see you..

During this week, it may require extra concentration to overcome fears of rejection or being misunderstood as supersensitive Cancer New Moon conjuncts retrograde Mercury on July 8. It would be wise to think and rethink before reacting. Also, Jupiter the planet of good fortune and happiness, now, having moved into Cancer on June 25, will create more of a “family atmosphere”. Time to get down to nesting with family and friends. Aries – This weeks New Moon highlights your area of home, a good time to just sit back and nest in the comforts of your own foundation. However with Mercury in retrograde, you don’t want to put your house on the market, buy a new home or do anything drastic. You can however, plan things out and implement after July 20.
Taurus – You may find that your skills at expressing yourself is magnified with your natural charm, as this week highlights the New moon transiting sun highlight your area of communication. Strong sentiments towards family and neighbors this week, you may also find that you have a strong desire to get away and travel a short distance…However with Mercury in retrograde, watch delivery and when traveling pay attention.
Gemini – Your emotions are very much attached to your personal possessions along with your money as the New Moon accents your money house. A good time to start fresh by using good old common sense when dealing with money matters. Specifically speaking, Mercury conjunct the Sun and New Moon may create unrealistic expectations.
Cancer – As the New moon takes place in your own sign, the limelight is on you. This can be a start of a fresh new week for you as you find that your desire is to self improve good strong cycle for focusing on yourself. However, be aware that all eyes are on you. Stay close to reality, don’t get lost in the clouds.
Leo – Time to clear out any sort of past and negative patterns, time to really focus in on where you are at this junction in your life. Plan and work smoothly to bring your dreams in to fruition. If possible implement after July 20th.

Libra – During this weeks New Moon time to place your best foot ahead of the game plan..let others see what you are really all about…a good cycle for recognition. Though balance is the key..it’s also important to keep yourself open to new opportunities that may fall in to place although reaching high is great, just make sure you do not overdo it.
Scorpio – You may see yourself a bit more introspective than usual as the New Moon occupies your area of higher thinking. A good time to plan a vacation, or even focus on educational pursuits. More importantly be realistic and true to yourself. Also, you may feel a pang of nostalgia for the next few weeks or so.
Sag – Time to really buckle down when it comes to money matters..investments or otherwise…a strong, yet very lucrative period for you if all is done properly..make sure you read between the lines, read through every detail before signing on the dotted line.
Cap – Your relationships, both work and personal are the key focus this week….time to get yourself out of yourself and see where your patterns lie. Mercury in retrograde may cause unnecessary tension. Also legal issues may surface, don’t react, just coast with it.
Aquarius – This may be your week where you feel lack of control. A good strong cycle for you as your desire to really buckle down with health becomes more important than ever..Pay attention to the signals that your body may be giving off. Also, personal relationships may undergo a complete transition this week. Stress should ease up after July 12.
Pisces – You may be in the groove this week, as speculation or chance taking is in the cards for you. A good strong creative period as well, as your creative juices are at a high point..

What is Mercury Retrograde? Three, and sometimes four, times a year, the planet Mercury appears to be moving backwards in the sky for a period of approximately 3 weeks. “Appears” is the key word here, because, technically speaking, no planet actually moves backwards in their orbits around the Sun. In fact, they don’t even slow down. Retrograde-station-direct cycles are essentially illusions that result from our point of view from Earth, simply because the Earth is also orbiting the Sun at a different speed than the other planets. Mercury turns retrograde more frequently than any other planet. It can never be more than 28 degrees from the Sun, and whenever it reaches its furthest distance from the Sun, it changes direction.
Mercury will be in Retrograde in the sign of Cancer from June 26th to July 20th.
