“SAFESENSOR” WEARABLE TECH FOR DEMENTIA FAMILY MEMBERS

SAFESENSOR, THE WANDERER, A HEALTHCARE WEARABLE FOR DEMENTIA , ALZHEIMER’S AND THEIR CAREGIVERS

By:  Leigh McQuade

The Wanderer was a great song, but as a caregiver, wandering is not something you want your family member or charge to do.  Monitoring is key and convergence of tech and need has innovated a healthcare wearable for dementia, Alzheimer’s and their caregiver, which has finally arrived on the market.

Alzheimer’s is dreadful disease and affects far too many, and when it affects your family and you as a caregiver, problems arise of which you never would have thought.

Not only do Alzheimer’s vicitms leave the stove on, or forget to eat, or forget who you are, but they forget where they are and where they are going and they wander.

Gone are days when we would leave a note pinned to suit collars and placed in handbags, or have a live-in family member keep an eye-out. We now have a great piece of technology for your family member and your smartphone.

The SafeSensor is a button style that attaches to the clothing and when your family member moves to rise from bed, per ce, the sensor alerts the app on the smartphone.

The sensor wearer pins it to their clothing, and when motion is detected, the app alerts the caregiver.

Many of our family members can still live alone, but we worry about where they are, how they are doing, what they are doing.  Having a sensor attached will immediately notify and lessen the worry.

As our population ages and the 50+ are becoming the new caregivers, new products that add value to the lives of the caregiver and the patient are inevitable, and this is the beginning of such a product.

Monitoring is key.   Add this device to your nanny cam, the one you can speak through, and your parent can easily continue with their independence, whilst you have peace of mind, and connectivity with them.

Safety and peace of mind is priceless.
