BABY BOOMERS HOW TO START-UP A SUCCESSFUL SMALL BUSINESS IN OUR SCREENIFICATION SOCIETY

By:  Joseph Warren

Baby boomers, how to start-up a successful small business in our screenification society. So, let’s talk business.  Real business and how to think about today’s modern businesses and how to start-up a successful small business in our screenification society.

Business as many have recognized, is different today, than say, even 10 years ago. Why? Because we are living in the communication era which is comprised of a screenification society; meaning everyone has a screen.

Screens are located at gas pumps, in your favorite dough-nut store and clenched within the hands of children.  Societies, globally, use screens for all reasons, all day long. What do they accomplish by participating within a screenification society? Life, balance, productivity within a metamodern world.

Within that productivity lies a new way of life, a new way of accomplishing, and, yes, a new way of doing business.

Not necessarily doing business, per ce, but a new way of selling, a new means of reaching that digital, screenifcation society.

LIFE BALANCE PRODUCTIVITY WITHIN A METAMODERN WORLD

Our communication era allows us to reach people individually; as a business, reaching customers is the only means of survival.  To reach customers in business, we have the ability, but with so many platforms, we must find where our customers are reachable.  Moreover, we must find them and they must discover and find value in our business.

Today’s modern business owner must know where their customers relax and on what device.  Although finding demographics is key to finding platforms, finding your customer for your product or service is greater.

Having your customer come to you is vastly different in our digital culture. Often discovery is on a mobile device; whereas, 10 years ago it would have been on the personal computer. Additionally, more discovery on the mobile device leads to more purchases on the mobile; meaning more purchases are being experienced digitally, rather than in bricks and mortar.

If you are in retail, prepare your company for one of two types of business models: online vs. bricks and mortar.

Know your company’s strategic destination and understand our modern technology and platforms Baby boomers, how to start-up a successful small business in our screenification society.

Online retail has a specific strategy and wholesale and store fronts have their own.  Don’t try to accomplish all at once. Pick one and focus.

If and when your business is successful and is more than a hobby, then open growth strategies.  Until then, open your mind to your product, reach your customer on all media for discovery, and focus how our screenification society will need and want your product or service for uptake.
