When we eat, we have many ways of watching our diets, our intake, our health, to be certain we are eating to the best of our ability.

One of the easiest means of determining our choices for intake, if you don’t have your food delivered and chosen for you, is eating by color! It’s a great way to watch and concentrate on ingesting the proper foods for optimum health. Once you can master varying and eating by color, then it’s time to become aware of the benefits of the foods you digest.

Each of us has our own particular ailments and body aches and blood needs. Knowing your body and tending to its needs aids to wellness and longevity.

One of our fears is heart disease. In order to combat that fear, having a low cholesterol count keeps our fears in check by knowing that we are eating well and helping by eating a soluble fiber food. A great all around vegetable; eaten all day, cooked in so many creative ways, it’s a terrific addition to daily, great health.

Sweet potatoes are native to Central and South America and are one of the oldest vegetables known to man. They have been consumed since prehistoric times as evidenced by sweet potato relics dating back 10,000 years that have been discovered in Peruvian caves.

Christopher Columbus brought sweet potatoes to Europe after his first voyage to the New World.

Think about it, one vegetable to combat and compliment EVERYTHING in our body! Definitely makes you wonder why we aren’t eating this vegetable every day, and moreover, in lieu of the white potato. Now that you know, make the change and make the sweet potato a staple in your kitchen for meals and snacks!
