Nibble on it, drop in your tea water, cleanse your palette with it, the taste is undeniable.
Our recipe is simple, but don’t let that fool you. The ease and health benefits are far greater than the effort involved.
Fighting off the flu and a cold and nausea are common reasons for thinking of taking ginger, but when one learns of the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, ginger may very well become a daily mainstay.
Here is our simple recipe for candied ginger! A wonderful holiday-festive medicinal treat!
Pot – for boiling pieces
Sugar for the boiling water
Ginger – peeled and very thinly sliced
Powdered sugar – to top off this healthful treat with a bit of a sweet
Thinly slice the ginger – guillotine would be optimum
Place in 2 cups boiling water
Add 3 cups sugar
Boil for 15 minutes
Let sit in boiled sugar water for 30 more minutes
Drain sugared water into decorative lemonade pitcher – set aside, fill with cranberry juice and sparkling water!!
Place sugar-sweet ginger onto parchment paper
Let dry overnight
Sprinkle with powdered sugar
Place them in a candy dish and take to friend or relatives house!
