Here is an excerpt from the collection of New England crime stories, V.R. Barkowski’s, “Out to Sea”:

“…Vivienne left her pack in the great room and climbed the stairs to El’s attic studio.  The familiar scent of oils turpentine and bergamot tugged at her memory. Unfinished canvases sat propped on chairs crammed under the work table, leaning against wall.  Half empty tubes of paint and soiled rags littered the floor.  She pictured her own uber-contemporary office in Boston, clean lines and custom walnut drafting table.  A reminder the only thing El had in common was their reflection in the mirror.
